The big 29 year-old!

I'm getting a little behind on the 'ole blog... but August 20th was Pete's birthday! The big 29! I can't believe 30 is just 1 year away. We're getting old :) His birthday was on a Saturday and he did have to work most of the day, but he unexpectedly got off work at 4! So we had the whole evening to celebrate.


Lot's of presents from us and from family. Thank you everyone! John had been busy coloring and drawing picture after picture and then rolling them up and sticking them in this basket to give to Pete. So cute! He watched closely as Pete unrolled and looked at each one.


Joe was feeling left out and wanted me to take a picture of him.



We "surprised" Pete with a kayak! (A few nights earlier John had prayed before going to bed and had said, "Thank you that we could get a kayak and life jackets"... and Pete had unfortunately overheard... not a big deal though :) Since Pete got off so early we were able to send him and John and Dan for a little trip down the Huron River which is just a couple miles from our house. The next weekend we went to a chain of lakes that's nearby and took our whole fam... all 5 of us! We probably won't be able to do that in a few years when they're a little bigger, but for now it works!
