Weekend in Vegas... Round 2

We once again found ourselves making the drive to Las Vegas for the weekend, this time to be with my mom and sisters who were down there for a soccer tournament. Since they're now living in Seattle, we couldn't resist the chance to come spend some time with them. 6 hours to Vegas is sure a lot better than the 15 hour drive to Seattle! The weather was less than hoped for... 40's and 50's and windy... but there were a few moments when the sun came out and the wind died down and we were able to soak up some Vegas rays : ) Who's ready for winter to be over? Friday was probably the nicest day, so we headed up to Red Rock Canyon for a little bit of hiking. Saturday and Sunday were full of soccer games, then Monday was DANIEL'S BIRTHDAY! Our big 3-year old! Celebrated at a park with presents and cupcakes. It was so much fun to be with my mom and sisters, we love you!!!

Red Rock Canyon:

I think Joe has been outdoor deprived this winter. With him not being able to walk and with the ground wet, I haven't let him have too much time outside lately, so whenever we do anything outside (if it's warm) he is in HEAVEN.

McKenzie tearing it up. (My sister Claire also played in the tournament, but I failed to get a good picture of her.)

Joe enjoys the soccer game with Grandma.

Hanging out at the hotel Cafe.

The birthday breakfast... Crispix and Cap'n Crunch. Very gourmet, I know. Dan's on a cereal kick. In the morning I'll offer waffles, oatmeal, muffins... nope, it's always cereal for him.

Getting ready to open the multitude of presents... also showing us how old he is.

Mmmm... cupcakes.

Playing at the park... oh how we love parks!

John and his cheesy smile just before beginning the 8 hour trip home... a great way to end Dan's birthday : ) Not really.
