Spring break in Nashville

Just a bit behind with the 'ole blog!  Better late than never. 

Pete had a week off of work that coincided with John and Dan's spring break, so we took advantage of the time off and met up with my sister Brittney and her family in Nashville, TN.  It was so much fun to have our two little families together again!  We lived just a block away from each other in Utah until just a few years ago, then we moved to opposite ends of the country, us up to Michigan, and them down to Texas.  Nashville ended up being about right in the middle, a 9 hour drive for us and 11 for them.  

We stayed at the Marriott and had a 2 bedroom suite with a living area and kitchen and all bunked in together.  Here we did some cartoon watching, game playing, snacking and experienced all the chaos that comes with 7 kids ages 6 and under.  Nothing we're not used to.

Swimming!  The hotel had a nice pool and hot tub that of course the kids couldn't resist.

We spent a lot of time outdoors at parks and walking around.  The temperature was in the 60's and 70's and was a much needed break from the freezing temperatures we were having in Michigan.  We could actually be outside without jackets!

The 2 little cousins playing side-by-side, not really even noticing the other is there.  I love this age, their little bodies are so cute.

Visited the Nashville Parthenon, which is a full-size replica of the Athens original.

On Saturday we headed downtown to a festival for some free music and entertainment.  There were different bands performing, food and splash pools just a few inches deep.  We let the kids play there and took turns going up close to listen to the music.

People sometimes say they think Will looks tired all the time.  Well, here you go.  Here's his typical "tired" face.  Eyes slightly closed, mouth slightly opened.

On the way home we decided to stop at Mammoth Cave National Park.  It added on a few hours to the drive, but this place was amazing.  We took a 2 hour tour of the caves and got the kids all tired out before hopping back in the car.  The pictures don't do it even a tiny bit of justice.

Such a fun little trip!  And so much fun to be with the Hanks family, we hope we get to do a trip like this with you guys again!
