Shiver's and Golden Corral

We met our neighbor Jack 3 1/2 years ago, before we had even moved in to this house. Jack is 91 years old and lives across the street from us and has pretty much become the 6th member of our family. He is the sweetest man and treats our family better than we could ever treat him. Every Sunday night, unless he's not feeling well, he drags our garbage can out to the curb... not an easy thing to do at his age. He lets us have all the fruit we can handle from his fruit trees in the fall, shares the rest of the produce from his garden, keeps me company when Pete is really busy, brings us bread every couple weeks, has taught me how to can, and takes us out to dinner every couple weeks. He has become a great friend to our family. Our family's favorite restaurant to go with him is Shiver's and Jack's favorite place (more than words can tell!) is Golden Corral. So we have become frequent customers of both. We love you Jack!

SHIVER'S:

GOLDEN CORRAL:
Last time we were here, there was a man making balloons for all the kids. I thought it was a great idea until the boys wouldn't stop fighting over them.

What a sweet friend to have! I'm sure you enrich his life just as much as he has yours!

PS- I saw Pete running across the street the other day. It was fun to see him in person for a minute, instead of just on the blog! :)
